Registration Now Open for OAMES Fall Medicaid Seminar
Share Ideas for Program Content by September 12
Registration is now underway for the September 19 OAMES Medicaid Training Seminar at Quest Business Center in Columbus. We are proud to continue this training tradition for OAMES members with the support and cooperation of the Ohio Department of Medicaid (now a stand-alone agency, formerly under the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services). These seminars are the only source for Ohio Medicaid HME-specific training and direct interaction with Medicaid staff and the Medicaid managed care plans.
The one-day meeting will cover a wide range of important topics:
- Don Sabol will discuss upcoming DME rule changes and plans for any future revisions including news on the agency’s efforts to become ICD-10 compliant by October 1, 2014;
- We’ll host a prior authorization forum by the Clinical Review team and supervisor Trina Hazley, RN to discuss processing and review issues;
- Kathy Frye, Medicaid ombudsman, will provide an update on a myriad of projects and changes underway at Ohio Medicaid including provider enrollment, ICD-10, Medicare & Medicaid integration, eligibility in MITS, coordination of benefits and other important topics;
- Christi Pepe from the Bureau of Managed Care will lead a panel session with representatives from the Medicaid managed care plans about MyCare Ohio, the state’s new Integrated Care Delivery Systems program. The goal of the ICDS program is to manage the full continuum of Medicare and Medicaid benefits for Medicare-Medicaid Enrollees.

Do you have suggestions for topics you’d like addressed at the seminar? Are you experiencing issues related to PA processing, claims or MITS? Please send this information to Kam Yuricich at the OAMES office kam@oames.org by close of business on September 12 so we can share it with Medicaid staff and help them prepare.
