CMS Releases New FAQs & Fact Sheets, Including Bidder Eligibility Details & Licensure Information for the Round 2028 Competitive Bidding Program
AAHomecare Alert, Published 8/27/2026
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) updated the Competitive Bidding Implementation Contractor (CBIC) website for Round 2028 of the Competitive Bidding Program, including the Fact Sheets on Bidder Eligibility Requirements and Licensure for Bidders. The agency also posted five new FAQ documents:
- Are state and territory licensure requirements mandatory for all DMEPOS CBP suppliers?
- What happens if I submit a bid without a required state or territory license?
- What if I still have questions after reviewing the DMEPOS Licensure Database and the Notes section?
- What states and territories are included in the nationwide Remote Item Delivery Competitive Bidding Area?
- Why is it so important to read the Notes section of the DMEPOS Licensure Database?
Members can locate the CBP educational materials on the CBIC website.
AAHomecare encourages suppliers to review the new guidance closely and will continue working with CMS to seek additional clarity on the program.
